Arts Ambassadors with MCAC

MCAC is looking for teens who want to be involved with the arts council and write in the teen arts connection forum about arts in their school or life.

You could become as Arts Ambassador and a spokesperson!

Arts Ambassadors have access to TAC news forum and can write about the arts that are happening in their part of the county.

Perhaps you as an Arts Ambassador want to share information about an event, or review an arts event. Or if an Ambassador needs help, perhaps in promoting a special project that they are involved in, they can post the info and the link.

One high school group asked for help in advertising the auditions for a film project the were working on last summer. MCAC helped advertise, and they got the response they needed to get their project going.

And that same project was an entry in the Teen Arts Festival and the Garden State Film Festival too! The connections made really worked.

This spring, the Arts Ambassadors have helped with a donation project that was fun to do, and they organized a give away at the Arts in Education Showcase at Middletown Arts Center. If you attended the Showcase, it was a fabulous night of teen artistry at its best, from music to spoken word to doo wop singing!

Future activities for the Arts Ambassadors will be created as the teens involved create them! Remember, art happens...... with your help! So join as an Arts Ambassador and be a voice for teen artists.

Facemaps with Photoshop Video Tutorial

In looking around on a bunch of blog sites, I discovered this interesting listing:

By Stryker.members@gfxartist.com on Miscellaneous
3DM3 has recently posted a new video tutorial on creating Facemaps with Photoshop. This Noesis Interactive tutorial teaches the process of creating custom facial maps using Photoshop. Learn how to take a series of digital photos and edit them together so that they are ready to be mapped onto a 3D game model as a single texture. If you've ever wanted to see your own face inside a video game, this is the lesson for you. Check the video here...

Planning on going to arts school?

Building an arts portfolio for art school is a lot of work and a lot of preparation. Many arts schools expect life drawings but it may be hard to get this experience in a high school art class. And drawings from photographs are not the same. Art students 16 years or older can attend life drawing classes hosted by the Belmar Arts Council. Check it out!

Introducing Teen Arts Connection

Several years ago, the Teen Arts Connection was born. It didn't even have a name then. There were dancers, singers, visual artists, and writers, in different grades and from different schools. We didn't know each other, nor did we know what to expect. There was a vision for us--a vision we could not escape being shaped by, but that was then.

Now Teen Arts Connection has been morphed by technology, and we're getting online to bring the resouces to you. Here you'll find all things teen artists in Monmouth County, NJ need to share their voices with the world.

Check us out every week for updates on events in our area just for teens interested in the arts. And let us know what you think.
